Today I’m going to share with you four tips on how to look your best on your wedding day for all my beautiful brides-to-be out there on picking your best hairstyle and prepping your hair for the big day. I got married last year and I learned a lot from the process, good and bad. So hopefully I can share some tips with you guys that will make the whole process a lot easier for you. Tip number one: know your hair limits. You want to find styles that are going to work with your hair and not against it.
Like when I was growing up, all I wanted was that perfect princess hair—-that long, luxurious, thick hair. And I just realized it’s not in the cards for me. So be honest, not only with yourself but with your stylist on what you’ll be able to accomplish and what’s going to hold in your hair. But on the flip side, you know your hair best so if there’s a product or a styling tool that works really well with you, just don’t be afraid to use it on the day of. Tip number two: pick your style based on the weather in which you’re getting married. So are you getting married in the wintertime? In the Bahamas? Tornado season? I don’t really know. You want to make sure because weathers going to play a huge part in the overall holdability—-which isn’t a word—-of your style. I’m going to just keep making up more words.
Holdability, that’s professional. So on my wedding day, it was actually supposed to rain and I was panicking cause I didn’t want those big, huge, frizzy curls because that’s not a look that you want to look back on and see in your photos. So I actually used an anti-frizz serum like this one by Nexxus®, which is their Frizzify Leave In Treatment with Moroccan Argan Oil, and it also has coconut extract in it. Which is fantastic, because it leaves your hair super soft and healthy looking and shiny. No frizz anywhere and it looked perfect on my wedding day. Tip number three: test out all the products and styles in advance. And I cannot stress this enough. I literally brought in a dozen photos of different styles that I found off of Pinterest and then I sat down with my hair stylist about a month in advance or so and really went through them and decided which style would work best for my hair type. And then we just altered it slightly so that it fit my hair type the best.
And then she wrote down all the products and encouraged me to call her if the curls didn’t end up holding all day, and that way we could adjust it for the day of. Tip number four: have an emergency beauty kit on hand. And I am an intorious…that’s not a word. Notorious. Notorious. I am a notorious organizer, and so I had to have everything there just in case for my bridesmaids and I that we could possibly need on the day. I had crazy glue. I had scissors. I had makeup remover. I even had chalk just in case I had any marks on my dress. I was one of those brides. But I felt like honestly the most helpful thing that we had was the TRESemmé® TRES Two Extra Hold Hair Spray.
And this was great because it was flexible enough that we could have our curls still look super natural but it also tamed any of the flyaways that we had on the big day. And that’s everything for this video. I hope you guys found it helpful, and I will see you guys all in my next video. .
