Hey, I’m JP Elario from Albany, New York, I’m a wedding and portrait photographer. I’m here at the Mount in Lenox, Mass, using the new Profoto B2 heads and I’m gonna show you how easy they are to use. What I’m trying to do here is I’m trying to kind of emulate the sun. It’s over there, it’s tucked behind some clouds, it’s really soft right now. I want to kind of get that same direction so it looks natural and real. I’m using this Octa box because it’s got really nice, soft light and it throws it nice and wide. The nice thing about this B2 set is, we’re outside, there’s nowhere to plug in, I’ve got the battery power I can just set it up and rock it out, it’s super, super easy to use. Take that, put it over your shoulder.
I’m gonna have you hold this pole and walk backwards with it as I’m walking with the couple. Super easy. Perfect! Matt, just kinda look down at Beeka? What’s great about this is, I’m away from them, I’m away from the light source so I can just use the little remote here, dial it in if I need to turn it up or turn it down. Again, another one of those easy things about this system. For this setup I’m going to do two lights, I’m gonna backlight her because she’s gonna have the black dress on. I’m gonna use the 2′ Octa to light them on the front side. What’s awesome about these B2 heads is that I can actually use my B1 head in line with them and I can have three different lights going off at the same time, so I’m gonna try to backlight them with two lights back down the lane and use this as my key light.
Oh, that’s killer! Ooh, that’s nice! Perfect! Yeah, lock it in right there! Hold that! Yeah, that’s great! Oh, we’re doing it now! .
